Steven de Rooij

After finishing his Bachelor in Applied Physics Cum Laude Steven de Rooij was ready for an even bigger challenge. Being the Technical Manager, he is responsible for the planning and the financial side of the project. Where the team puts the focus on winning the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge, Steven makes sure this is the Challenge of 2017, and not the one of 2019. With phrases like “That will definitely break!” and “This will never be done in time!” he keeps the team with both feet on the ground. Steven makes sure the planning is feasible by setting clear priorities and provides insight to the rest of the team. This is essential to work together on a level like ours. But Stevens most important role in the team is being the cuddle bear. If you happen to walk past him, give him a big hug (if he didn’t beat you to it)!
