While I am writing this, I am sitting in the backseat of our team car, heading for Schaap Composites in Lelystad. The past few months I have made this trip weekly in order to help with the production of Nuna6. This time the trip is different, because we will finally bring Nuna6 to Delft. We need to capture this special moment and therefor the students from HKU (our own camera crew) are driving behind us.
Once we arrived at Schaap Composites in Lelystad, the production crew is still working to finalize everything. The apartment, where they lived the past few months must be cleaned, our workshop in the company must be organized and Nuna6 must be packed in a way that she will not be damaged during the trip back home. Nuna6 is also be weighted. To reduce the weight of such a light car is really difficult, but we did it! The bet about the weight of the car was won by Paul, one of the employees of Schaap Composites.
After everything has been cleaned, organized and packed the trip back to Delft can begin. Meanwhile, the other team members are preparing our office and workshop in Delft and waiting in excitement for the arrival of Nuna6. Finally, the time is there: Nuna6 arrives. After unloading and admiring Nuna6 the champagne is uncorked and it is time for a party. Now we are ready for the next phase!
