Teijin Twaron provides the Nuon Solar Team with Twaron Aramide fibres for the construction of the car. Aramide is used in bulletproof jackets and is used in the Nuna 3 because of its excellent impact and electrical isolation properties. Besides this, Teijin Twaron supports the production of the body financially.
KLM Cargo supports the Nuon Solar Team because it illustrates teamwork where, just as in the airtraffic industry, international competition and high-quality technology are main topics. KLM Cargo wants to stimulate the important technological developments of sustainable energy. Together with MASKargo, KLMCargo looks after the transport of Nuna 3 to Australia. Besides the airtransport, specialists of KLMCargo developed a special wooden box (5.42m x 2.15 m x 1.9 m) in which the Nuna 3 and all materials for the stay in Australia, including tools and spare parts for the solar car, can be safely locked up.
Ten Cate Advanced Composites provides the team with carbon fibres needed to produce large parts of the body. For some moulds, needed during the production proces, glass fibres from Ten Cate will be used.
TNO assists the team with professional advice during the design of the solar car and the suspension.
The German company Hans Gochermann takes care of the encapsulation of our solar cells. This makes them less vulnerable and increases the efficiency.

Flights to Australia are very expensive. Because of the sponsoring of airliner Qantas, it is possible to make use of low-priced and flexible prices for teammembers and support team.

All the electrical tools are sponsored by Festool. This company is well known for the excellent quality and precision of all products. This is exactly what the Nuon Solar Team needs during the production of the Nuna 3.
The non-electrical tools used by the Nuon Solar Team are provided by Technag. The Gedore-materials used in our workshop are very reliable and of high quality.
The dies of our car were first spray painted before they are laminated. Spray painting the car is a very delicate job and has to be done very accurately. Sikkens Autolakken Nederland delivers excellens varnish. They helped us with the dies and will also spray paint the Nuna 3 when he is finished.
The Delft based company MPP Hittech mills the most complicated components of the Suspension. Hittech makes use of very modern CNC-controlled milling machines. Knowledge, experience and craftmanship ensure a product that fulfills al our expectations and fixed specifications.
Micpoint provides us with satellit-phones and a satellite connection during the race such that we can send text and pictures to the Netherlands every day.
An important aspect of the design and production proces is the use of the right software programs. The design was made in the proces-management program Catia. This package offers more than the standard 3D Cad applications. The integration of various designaspects in one program makes Catia a perfect solution for our project.
In July the full-scale model of Nuna 3 was tested in the LST windtunnel of the DNW (Duits-Nederlandse Windtunnel) in Emmeloord.

The Nuon Solar Team can make use of the Test Centrum of the RDW (Rijksdienst voor Wegverkeer) in Lelystad. The team can test Nuna 3 extensively before leaving for Australia.
Gipair offers a nitrogen tyrecompressor. Using this system, our tyres will suffer less of the temperaturechanges during the race such that driving gets safer.
Energymanagement is of primar importance during the race. At every moment of the race we need to know the batterypower. TBS sponsors a high precision battery systems which is indispensable for a good strategy.
During the race the state of the weather has to be measured accurately. One of the most important factors is the solar intensity. Kipp & Zonen provides us with extremely accurate and advanced solarintensity-gauges.
All teammembers and members of the support team have followed a first-aid course and fire fighting course at the EHBK in Heemskerk (doctor Brigitte Kleist).
During the race Nuna 3 will be protected at night against external weather influences by E-ZUP tents.
