Newsletter - New Flightcase

15-03-2016 / Newsletter - New Flightcase

Winning a race takes a lot of effort, not only from the team but as well from all of our partners. This week we started developing our flightcase together with the Meilink Group and we received a 3D printer from Leapfrog.
New flightcase

To transport Nuna to places all around the world for races and congresses we need a flightcase. The flightcase is a big wooden box which can hold not only Nuna but also all of our tools. Thanks to the Meilink Group we will now get a brand new one sponsored. Designing the flightcase is a difficult process since the flightcase must be big enough to fit Nuna and all of our tools but cannot be too big else she won’t fit on a normal plane. Long story short, we will be doing a lot more of measuring and calculating before the flightcase is actually here!

Crowdfunding

Yesterday our crowdfunders were able to drive Nuna themselves on the wheeler track RWC Ahoy. To get the real drivers experience they were assigned certain exercises such as an emergency stop and driving an exact target speed. With the sunny weather it became a beautiful day with a lot of happy people. We hope you enjoyed your drive in Nuna!

Did you know… I
that Winnifred will follow a two day course at Socialize to get more knowledge about social media this week?
3D printing

Thanks to Leapfrog we now have our very own 3D printer in our workshop. This enables us to do more rapid prototyping and thus develop new parts of Nuna faster than before.

In the spotlights

One by one we will introduce all of our team members in the newsletters. In today’s spotlight is Winnifred Noorlander

Winnifred Noorlander takes care of the Public Relations of the Nuon Solar Team, she is responsible for organizing events and provides the return for our partners. With her technical background and creative views she will do everything in her power to keep the world cup in Delft!
After working hours Winnifred loves to swim and in July she will attend the quarter triathlon together with David.

Did you know… II
that our flightcase has a two layer system to store more stuff underneath Nuna?
