Nuna5 vereeuwigd in Delfts Blauw (NL/EN)

Onze zonneauto Nuna5 is vanaf nu permanent in de Delftse binnenstad te bewonderen. Er staat geen replica in het centrum, maar Nuna5 is vereeuwigd in het ontwerp van speciale Delfts Blauwe lantaarnpalen.

In het kader van Delft Kunststad 2010 werden speciale Delfts blauwe lantaarnpalen geplaatst in het centrum. Het is het resultaat van een enthousiaste samenwerking onder meer tussen de gemeente Delft, de Porceleyne Fles en keramiekstad Jingdezhen. In het ontwerp van Adriaan Rees zijn diverse Delftse symbolen vertegenwoordigd, waaronder dus onze Nuna. De porseleinen omhulsels zijn in 2009 beschilderd door de Delftse kunstenaar Wendy Steenks – verbonden aan de Porceleyne Fles – en de Chinese kunstenaar Ling Yun in Jingdezhen, China.

De speciale paal is te bewonderen op het Agathaplein in de binnenstad van Delft, vlakbij het Prinsenhof.

Our solar car Nuna5 is on permanent display in the historic center of Delft. We did not leave a replica over there, but Nuna5 has been used in the design of special Delftware-style lamp posts.

As a project within the Delft City of Art 2010, these special lamp posts were placed in the centre. These posts are the result of an enthusiastic cooperation between the Delft city council, Delftware factory “De Porceleyne Fles” and the Chinese city of Jingdezhen. In the design by artist Adriaan Rees several items from Delft are present, including our solar car Nuna5. The posts have been created by Delft artist Wendy Steenks and the Chinese artist Ling Yun.

Het Nuon Solar Team bedankt haar sponsoren

Het Nuon Solar Team heeft afgelopen vrijdag, 12 februari, haar sponsoren bedankt voor alle hulp tijdens het project. Het feestje werd gehouden in de binnenstad van Delft waar de sociëteit van de Delftse studenten Bond verkleed was met de nodige Nuna gadgets. Ook Nuna5 ontbrak natuurlijk niet bij het feest en stond tentoongesteld in een van de zalen.

Tijdens de ontvangst van sponsoren werd het eerste boek, met daarin de avonturen van Nuna5, overhandigd aan de Michel van Baal van de TU Delft. Aansluitend was er een diner. Het buffet, wat goed verzorgd was door Mari catering, gaf het team de mogelijkheid gezellig bij te kunnen praten met de sponsoren. Na het eten was het tijd voor nog een primeur. Want naast het eerste boek was het namelijk ook tijd voor de première van de film over Nuna5 gemaakt door studenten van de Hogeschool voor Kunsten Utrecht (HKU). De film geeft een goed beeld van de belevenissen in Australië. Voor deze première voegden vrienden en familie zich bij de gasten. Vol spanning heeft iedereen de indrukwekkende film bekeken. Om alles goed af te sluiten werden er nog enkele drankjes gedaan onder het genot van live muziek van de studentenband Spuit 11.

Within the framework of the course AE4-T39, ASSET presents a special course on solar racing. This year’s course is largely based on contributions from the team members that participated with Nuna5 in the World Solar Challenge 2009 in Australia.

Though these lectures give valuable knowledge about the Nuna project, attending these lectures is not mandatory when applying for the Nuna6 team later this year.

The course will follow the whole development of the solar car and will show the true multidisciplinary nature of such a project. The Nuna race car development will cover the start of the assessment of the lessons learnt from the team of 2007, followed by building up the design drivers, developing the actual design of the body (aerodynamics coupled with structural requirements), the mechanical parts, such as steering, suspension, etc.., the tests in the wind tunnel, the electrical design including the solar panel layout, the actual building and manufacturing an assembling and finally the testing.

At the end of the course the actual racing is addressed: the logistics involved and particularly the strategy, the way the operation is set-up like a space mission with mission control vehicle, satellite communication, telemetry of the car, etc. ending in the intelligent energy management leading to maximizing the performance.

This course is eligible as a sustainable education course and represents a value of 3 ECTS upon completion. The final mark will be based on an oral examination.

The course is open for all TU Delft students having completed their first and second year.
